I've used it a couple times in my 04' through the gas tank and intake manifold. Never hurts to clean the injectors

I wouldn't use seafoam go to the nearest gm dealer ask them for the upper cylinder and injector cleaner in a clear bottle and is blue smells good and will burn the carbon right off of the pistons great stuff!way better then seafoam.

i would only use it through the intake only if your intake manifold is covered in oil on the inside, and in the engine oil right before you change the oil only if you have A LOT of miles on it and if your not the original owner.

for fuel treatment, i like to put a bottle of Lucas Upper Cylinder lubricant in the fuel tank every 10,000 miles to keep the injectors and combustion chamber clean.

Two words:

Use it.

Use it thru the break boost, let it suck up about 3/4 of a can and put the rest in your gas tank. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes and watch the white smoke fly. And depending on how during your engine is it can keep smoking for about 15+ minutes

****MAKE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR OIL SOON AFTER****

i beleive seafoam recommends 1/3 in the fuel tank, 1/3 in the engine oil, and the rest through the intake until white smoke appears. :lurk:

they got this new thing now for the intake that looks pretty nifty. i personally haven't used it yet cuz all my current cars are brand new:

How do you use it? Do you put it through your gas tank or through your brake booster line or throttle body?

A couple different ways and it will clean different things.

If you put it in the gas tank, it will clean the injectors and whatnot from the tank in.

If you allow it to be sucked thru the brake booster, it'll clean the carbon buildup around the intake. I heard it doesn't do an even job on the entire intake, but it's better than nothing.

If you go thru the throttle body, again it will clean the intake an in. Just be sure that if you use the straw, that it's secured well before spraying in the intake. You don't want the straw getting sucked in.

If you dump in in the oil, it will clean any deposits in the crankcase.

Many uses and many ways to use it. just don't overdo it when dumping it in the brake booster vacuum. Pour it in slowly.

I was actually asking about the GM cleaner, not the Seafoam. I should have specified which I was asking about. My bad.

I've used Seafoam plenty of times and it's worked wonders every time. I used it often on my old '95 S-10 4.3L and my wife's A4. I've used it on my new truck but just through the gas tank. When I tried to use it through my brake booster line the truck's RPMs shot up way to high for my liking so I didn't do it through there. I might have to try it through the throttle body with the hose though.

I recently used the new seafoam spray on a 91 taurus. Unlike they say on that utube link, I couldnt get the can to spray when held upside down. It took a long while to get half the can sprayed in there. This vehicle didnt smoke hardly at all too. I guess it worked.

with the GM stuff YOU CANT put in the gas tank or oil.just put it in the brake booster.

For what its worth. I was lurking on a f body ls1 forum and they were discussing upper engine cleaning treatments. They said as a result of some of the clean air laws, GM had to revise the formula for their top engine cleaner. A lot of these LS1 people were talking about how they did not like seafoam because it was a liquid base (I cannot personally validate or deny this). They recommended Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner, or MCCC. It apparently has a more potent formula than the revised GM treatment and was a foam rather than a liquid (i.e. compressible).

I'm not trying to get flamed for recommending a mopar product over a gm product on a GM website, just trying to share what I learned.

That make sense, every time I tell someone about Seafoam and how much it makes my truck smoke. The first thing they ask is

"Isn't that illegal?"

I laugh every time.
